Department of Transportation/ Caltrans – Upgrade water distribution and wastewater Maxwell

The main scope of work is the improvement of entire maxwell safety roadside rest area (north bound and southbound) includes ramp closure/traffic control, parking lot improvements, striping and markings, parking lot ADA signs, new asphalt paving, concrete foundation, sewage ponds modifications, Restroom improvements, fencing, water/sewage/electrical and comm utility work and Generator..

Services included:

  • Work involves installation of new water distribution facility including new water well, pressure tank and pipelines, new generator. The work also includes new asphalt pavement for the new access road.
  • Scope of work includes improvements of restrooms and new utility work involves excavation and backfilling.
  • Abatement of asbestos containing material (ACM), carpets and under base coving.
  • ADA improvements involves new parking lot striping and markings, parking signs and truncated dome plates. Also, involves existing asphalt improvements and sealing.
  • Work involves improvement of sewage ponds by removing all the sludge, grading and construction of berm, Geo-membrane lines, install new aerator system.
  • Install new SRRA switch board, Lift station control panels, SCADA system and panel, Aerator control panel and a standby Generator to feed the water distribution system.
  • Remove and replace the sewage water sump pumps from both lift stations and new piping after epoxy coating the existing lift stations,
  • Install water chlorination and filtration system.
  • Install New 400ft deep well with casings and pipes and its connections to new 5000Gallon Pneumatic Pressure tank.
  • The scope of work includes traffic control management, installation of ramp closure devices and signage per Caltrans requirements.
  • Also, the work includes directional drilling from North bound area to the southbound area to run utility lines under the freeway.
  • Biological surveys, erosional controls and landscaping.
