The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a Department of Defense distribution facility located in Tracy, California. TSI replaced the existing gate house building to improve employee efficiency, reduce traffic congestion and improve working conditions for all personnel. This was a design-build project. TSI replaced one (1) existing Gate House and foundation with one (1) new building to meet UL-752 Standards for Level 3 protection. UL-752 Level 3 standards calls for bullet resistant fiberglass. The steel gatehouse was built with bullet-resistant fiber glass to resist attacks from weapons including super power hand gun such as .44 Magnum and like weapons with muzzle energy of 971-1175 foot-pounds. The unit has an approximate base dimension of 10’-9” x 20’-0” with 2’ roof overhang and Standing Seam Roof Systems (SSMR)..

Our team:

• Demolished the existing gate house structure including; interior counters, sliding doors, windows, curbs, concrete slabs, gutters, sidewalks, storm drain system, water supply, raised median, lighting, mechanical signaling systems and electric utilities.
• Temporarily relocated the overhead power lines away from the construction zone for safety purposes and overhead crane operations.
• Tied in the existing underground utilities with new utilities for the gate house.
• Prepared pre-construction submittals including, product data sheets, project schedule, site health & safety plan, waste characterization plan and waste management plan.
• Designed the secondary electric and control wiring.
• Installed a misting system.
• Submitted shop drawings and product data submittals.
